MEET OUR TEAM
Christa Knudsen, Founder and Director of Enlight Global
For over a decade, Christa Knudsen, the Director of Enlight Global, traveled the world in search of students looking for an American education off the beaten path. In doing so, she stepped off the beaten path herself, and the experience was life changing. While forging trails in the Mekong Delta and North Vietnam, in Bhutan, Uganda, Colombia, Turkey, Korea, China, Norway (+), she made lifelong friends, and discovered gems too precious to keep.
In 2024, Enlight Global was founded to share these trails and the gems along the way with intrepid travelers everywhere. Enlight Global exists to delight, to widen perspectives, and to illuminate the unseen world.
Christa Knudsen served as the Director of International Programs at Marshall School, located in Duluth, Minnesota for 15+ years. During her tenure she developed the school’s first international program, eventually sourcing students from over 35 countries. She has extensive experience with student recruiting and school placement, homestay and residential programming, inbound and outbound student travel, group travel, navigating cultural differences, and teaching and learning.
She served as the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Global Ambassador from 2021-22, and as multi-year Board member and two-time Chair (21-23) of Study Minnesota, a consortium of internationally involved educational institutions in the State of Minnesota.
Christa lives in Duluth, Minnesota with her family and dogs, enjoying baking, swimming, skiing, and stargazing as often as possible.
Jayva Jordan, Creative Director and Travel Manager at Enlight Global
Born and Raised in Duluth, MN, Jayva Jordan, has always been drawn to the outdoors and the thrill of discovering new places. During high school, her passion for travel blossomed as she embarked on transformative trips to Honduras, Mexico, and others across the United States. These early experiences fueled her curiosity about the natural world, leading her to pursue a degree in Environmental Geoscience at the University of Minnesota. Her academic journey deepened her understanding of Earth's processes and the importance of sustainability.
When she wasn’t immersed in her studies, Jayva spent her summers back in Duluth, where she took on a leadership role as a coach at the Duluth Rowing Club. There, she found joy in mentoring young athletes and being part of a community that shared her love for the water and teamwork.
Recently, Jayva stepped into the dynamic field of marketing and social media management with Enlight Global. This role allows her to merge her love for science, travel, and leadership. As she navigates this exciting chapter, Jayva is enthusiastic about sharing Enlight Global's vision and helping others explore their passions for travel, adventure, and environmental stewardship. She looks forward to inspiring others to embark on their own journeys of discovery, just as she has throughout her life.
